Hatton lies deep in the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country on the south central hills at an elevation of over 4,500 feet. It is here that the créme de la créme of Ceylon tea flourishes; fragrant and delicately flavoured.
The town serves as a strategic base for climbing Adam’s Peak and exploring the surrounding Peak Wilderness Sanctuary as well as the spectacular Laxapana and Devon waterfalls. The winding roads and tea plantations of the area lend itself to an array of things to do in Hatton, like long walks and bicycle rides with routes snaking past estates, line rooms, British-era stone churches, and Hindu temples painted in vibrant colours.
